Description
'We often find that as we begin to write songs an underlying theme begins to shine through. With Fascinate we found ourselves drawn to the magnificence of God and the greatness of the power of the gospel. There are songs on the album that remind us of who we are in Christ, some that speak of His compassion, some to remind us of His return and others that call us to pray for His kingdom to come.'
'Ultimately we want the album to draw people to God, to lift their eyes to Him in all circumstances and worship. Worship is His gift to us. We are made to worship our creator for He is worthy no matter what, but we find that as we give, we also receive. We’ve packed these songs with truth to remind us of who our God is. As we surrender our lives and honour Him in worship we find that, by his grace, we are refuelled, re energised and He supplies all that we need for each moment.'
The sound is a new one for Lou, but a logical step too. Producer Sam Cox helped steer the project in a fresh, radio-friendly pop direction, but one that still maintains Lou’s appeal across the age spectrum. Lou have always played to a wide audience, drawing fans across the generations, from 7 to 70; a good reflection of the church as the family of God.
'Normally I don’t listen to albums I’ve made as I don’t want to hear myself sing, but - embarrassingly - I’ve been listening to Fascinate quite a lot. I love the energy and the production. I can’t wait to sing the songs in churches and see how God uses them. Our prayer is that God would breathe on this album use it to equip the church and bring glory to Him.'
